Ahead of sham elections, Maduro favors Cuban allies over suffering Venezuelans, by Roger F. Noriega

Reuters reports that the Maduro regime in Venezuela has found another way to squander the nation’s assets — by purchasing foreign oil to ship directly to Cuba.
According to internal documents from the state-run oil firm PDVSA, crisis-ridden Venezuela has purchased nearly $440 million worth of oil to send to Cuba since January 2017, even as medicine and food shortages devastate the Venezuelan people.
