"It is said that where one stands on an issue all too often depends upon where one sits. The same is likely to prove to be the case with Donald Trump and the Federal Reserve.
As a candidate for the US presidency, Donald Trump was highly critical of the Federal Reserve for what he considered its too easy monetary policy in the run-up to last November’s US elections. However, now that he is president, Mr. Trump is all too likely to want a Fed that is not overly independent and that will do his bidding when it comes to financing an increasing US budget deficit and keeping the dollar from becoming overly strong...."
